Once a month Daniella of Avanti Pilates and Jessica of Pure Life Therapy come together, virtually, to offer a relaxing and rejuvenating massage Pilates class. This 90 minute class explores massage therapy, Pilates stretches, and how these healing modalities create a peaceful and tranquil landscape during these highly stressful times.
For the month of February, we wanted to offer a couples session for Valentine's Day weekend. It's been very difficult these past few months to plan a getaway, so we decided to bring the getaway to you! During the first half of class, participants learn techniques to safely massage their partner's neck, shoulders, and back. The second half consists of helping your partner lengthen, strengthen, stretch, and feeling centered with guided Pilates movements.
Physical touch is important to our mental, physical, and emotional health and right now we are not getting enough of it. A basic warm touch can calm cardiovascular stress and activates our bodies' vagus nerve, which is intimately involved with our compassionate response. A simple touch can trigger a release of oxytocin, aka “the love hormone” and can bring about a feeling of safety and trust. Join us for this limited class; you and your partner won't forget it!
